Who we are:

  • A secular and non-profit development trust established in the year 1989 by a group of social activists committed to the cause of the poor and the marginalized people in remote rural areas.
  • Since its inception, PRM has been making strenuous efforts to empower the rural poor by developing their capacities, providing ample opportunities for participation, articulation and social action.
 

History:

  • Estd in 1989 and registered under Indian Trust Act.
  • It started its work among the poor communities in Pudukkottai dist, Tamil Nadu, with the stated objectives to establish justice and hunger free society for holistic life.
 

Mission:

To facilitate and mobilize the grassroots, women, children, youth, dalits, marginal farmers, artisans into non-formal systems that ensure their fullest participation and involvement in the interventions for their holistic empowerment.
 

What we do:

  • It provides training for small and marginal farmers for organic food production.
  • Skill development training for the marginalized community.
  • It promotes gender inequality.
  • It offers training on integrated rural development.
  • It strives to ensure education and eradicate illiteracy.
  • It provides health education, environmental education and organize campaigns on environment and rights for rural artisans.
